Brian Matusz had a solid outing today against the Twins. His gave up 3 hits and two runs in a tough first inning but didn’t allow a base runner after that. Matusz racked up 6 strikeouts in just 2.2 innings. 31 of Matusz’s 46 pitches were for strikes. I’d say his outing was successful.
Other notes from today’s game:
- Matt Angle was 0 for 1 today and has hit just .100 in ten at-bats.
- Brandon Snyder was 0 for 2 today and has not hits in 7 at-bats.
- Wilfredo Perez pitched one inning today and registered one strikeout.
I’ll be at spring training from March 29 – April 5 and will be testing out my new HD video camera. I wanted some input on what type of video angles you like the most. For pitchers, is behind the plate the preferred angle? For hitters, is the open side of the stance the best view? Do you prefer volume or no volume?
Reminder: Sign up for the OriolesProspects.com newsletter which will be sent out every two weeks starting in early April.

Video angle for hitters: i usually like the open stance angle.
Video angle for hitters: behind plate is best because it you get a better view of the movement on the pitches
I agree with Matt.
At the park in Stockton, CA you can sit with the scouts for $20. Well worth it, cause you can get the radar reading and get insights.
That seems like an excellent deal. I enjoy hearing inputs from scouts, especially when two have different opinions about a player.
You know what’s real tight, is that some of the pitchers who are off that day also sit behind the plate and scout. You get to hear a lot of stuff that as a fan you don’t really think about.
